About me
I am originally from the Czech Republic and in 2017 I moved to Portobello, Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. I knew I needed a change that would provide me with more mental space. I decided to settle down in Portobello.
I am approachable and warm and also very pragmatic. I am deeply empathetic and caring and also very logical and straightforward. And very intuitive. Intense. And very grateful.
My logic and feelings are in balance which makes my life interesting; it keeps me curious, creative and active. Sometimes awake at night. Awake at night because I naturally try to link ideas, experience and thoughts from seemingly unrelated fields and areas. That is my passion.
I have had quite a few different interests in the past, from computer programming, wanting to study logic, to other areas, including classical music and many different jobs that were not always fulfilling. Recently, while completing the Professional Development Award (PDA) in Mental Health & Peer Support and then working as a trainer at a recovery college in Edinburgh, many things became clear. The need for the recovery movement and the need to understand trauma was always something I intuitively felt. This offered me the knowledge and terminology I needed and opened the door to more learning and setting up my own business which is based on this simple motto - Critical thinking led by heart and intuition.
It hasn’t always been easy since I moved from Prague to Edinburgh; I had a very limited income and there were obstacles on the way. It required courage, discipline and resilience, but it was the best decision of my life. My life hadn’t been very smooth and I reached a crisis point when I suffered from severe anxiety and major depression. I then had the privilege of meeting my deepest pain. This crisis was the beginning of my healing and the unlocking of my potential.
I love effective communication.
I like to be the bridge between different parts of the society. I like finding and offering lasting solutions.
I seem to have a gift to offer deeper insight and communicate different messages to different audiences in an understandable way.
The world is getting more and more complicated and I think that our European tradition is in a serious crisis. I believe that part of our personal development and growth should be asking uneasy questions about our real values and the values of the world we live in.
I also advocate for children and childhood. Children’s basic needs are often in contradiction with many of the beliefs and values of our modern world, both in our parenting styles and our educational systems. I am becoming increasingly concerned regarding the way we treat our children. (within …)
Our society seems to unnecessarily sexualise our children and introduce them to concepts that belong to the adult world. The important and fundamental boundary between childhood and adulthood is becoming less and less clear, most of our institutions are introducing children from a very young age to the gender identity theory which seems to cause more harm than good.
I wish our children had the chance to enjoy childhood without the elements that belong to adulthood as it is such an important part of their healthy development.
I would say that one of my main gifts is my emotional intelligence and seeing people in a holistic and a non-judgmental way. My strong intuition helps me to lead important conversations. I value beauty, truth, intuition, creativity, emotional maturity, courage, academic knowledge as well as all other forms of learning that lead to a better understanding of the world we live in and a better understanding of ourselves. I also value open and logical debate and strongly encourage everyone to have difficult conversations about the world we live in. That is the bedrock of a healthy society and a healthy individual.
